What is love?

focusas:

Sokka runs through palace corridors and sings:”Oh what is love?“ then he accidentally runs into Azula and they both stumble and roll on the floor with Azula getting on top of Sokka.

“Baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me …“ Sokka looks at Azula and blue fire in her hand.

“No more!“ Wicked smile appears on Azula’s face before she completes Sokka’s sentence.

focusas:

It was casual day in Fire nation royal palace and casual madness was happening within it walls. Sokka was casually running through palace corridors, but it wasn’t casual run to the kitchen to stuff his mouth with food, because it wasn’t casual run when deadly beautiful Fire nation princess was right behind and chasing him with blue fires in her hands.

“NO, NO, NO! THIS ISN’T HAPPENING! NO, NO, NO!“ Sokka was screaming from the top of his lungs while trying to escape inescapable destiny that has befallen him this unlucky day.

“STOP RUNNING FOOL! I AM PREACHING ETERNAL LOVE HERE!“ Azula was screaming while chasing Sokka.

I’m curious, why do you ship Sokkla? I don’t see any similarities, or there are?

:

there are tho!

Starting with the more obvious ones…

  • They’re both the less-temperamental, more logical-minded sibling to the more wild and emotional one. Sokka has been known to tear into Katara for actions of hers he finds unnecessary or poorly planed, and Azula has in fact done the same to Zuko (be it harsher because their relationship is more antagonistic in general but w/e).
  • Azula and Sokka are both strategists by nature, even if their methodology is somewhat different. They’re the plan-makers that learn to subvert the situation in their favor. On a grand scale, you can say that the Black Sun arc of events is one very large indirect strategic battle between them; the op on DoBS is Sokka’s creation, the counterattack that caused it to fail is hers.
  • They’re both pretty gosh-darn sarcastic.
  • Azula is very possessive of people she values and Sokka is the same, defensive to the point that being at risk of losing these people quickly causes their logical thought process to crumble. (ex. Sokka lashes out and loses his cool during DoBS and Azula’s breakdown is arguably triggered by Mai and Ty Lee’s betrayal.)
  • Both Sokka and Azula are the practical leaders of their respective squads, and both obtain experience commanding a larger military force as well.
  • They were both shafted/sidelined by LOK

As to some more reasons as to why they would make a great pair, I’ll direct you to @seyaryminamoto‘s analysis Here. Also, here are some of mine. Sokka is by nature heroic but his morality is more realistic and gray than the rest of the Gaang, this means he can present his views in a way that Azula wouldn’t find impractical and preachy. In DoBS, Azula singled him out specifically as a threat/authority to deal with, which she wouldn’t have done if she didn’t respect his capabilities (taking this into account, its pretty obvious that she knew exactly who was behind the Boiling Rock escape). On another note, The Search actually did a legitimately good job with their interactions (Sokka is one of the people she interacted with the most besides Zuko btw); Sokka straight up does not fear her (and you’d be hard-pressed to find a moment he does anywhere) and has no issue dropping jokes right to her, plus she saves him during the vine attack.

Dumb Modern AU Headcanon: Sokka shows Azula Star Wars for the first time. In the end of The Empire Strikes Back, he starts filming her to catch her reaction to the final reveal (expecting the emotional reaction he and Katara had). But Azula doesn’t really react. For her, the father being a villain is no surprise.

firelxrdazula:

LMAO, true, though? She’d go like “… You didn’t see it coming? It was so obvious!” And Sokka’s like “no! It was totally mindblowing!” in an enthusiastic tone.

Azula is also like “the movie’s not THAT good,” then proceeds to point out incongruities within the show, talking about how relativity wasn’t a thing in that movie and all that. Sokka and Azula bicker all the way back home about it. Then, Sokka proceeds to show her all the movies to prove a point, “how amazing it is!” So, in Return of the Jedi, Sokka shows her the ewoks.
I’m pretty sure this would also happen:
Sokka: At least the Ewoks were cute!
Azula: ….
Sokka: YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE EWOKS ALSO?????
