To Every Sokkla Fan – Thank You!

Sokkla Saturdays Summer Challenge – June 11, 2016 – September 17, 2016.

After two back-to-back challenges spanning a total 14 Saturdays, with new content created ranging from drabbles, art, one-shots, quotes, posters, graphics, and full length stories, it is only necessary to thank each participant in the writing challenge as well as any fan who has shown their support for this pairing in their own unique way.

Above are some of the participants of the writing challenge, which does not fully encompass the Sokkla Community at large, both on Tumblr, on FanFiction, and on other online mediums, nor does it include so many of the supporters that made these challenges worthwhile.

Regardless, its my pleasure to thank these participants for their efforts over the past few months. With great skill, creativity, and determination, balancing writing, other projects, and life beyond this site, you have achieved a great feat. You have shown what this small community is capable of doing and the amazing work it can produce. You have shown that you are willing and able to go against the current and come out champions. Your task was not easy – writing, art, anything requiring creative effort takes persistent willpower to overcome obstacles. It takes a persistent person, like yourselves, ones that are willing to learn and carry on, to reach your goals.

Take a bow guys, be proud – you just made a ding in the universe.

That goes for all the Sokkla fans out there too, both old-timers and new comers. Thanks for being apart of this community and I hope we can continue to do great things.

Game Three: Song

The tune’s melodious
sounds filled the stadium; the drums resounded loudly while accompanying the
rest of the instruments. Azula stood with her back straight, her eyes set on
the Fire Nation emblem as it danced with the wind, red and black contrasting
against the blue and white in the clear sky.

Her opponent, Rui
Shi, stood beside her. He watched the flag with the same solemnity Azula did,
but she could sense his unease and nervousness regardless. He was worried about
the result of the match, despite they both knew already just what it would be.
The man was a powerful bender, but nobody in the firebending category could
hold a torch to Azula’s abilities. Her mind was set on winning, and she hoped
to do it as quickly as possible. Because as it happened…

The White Lotus International Games

Game Two; Memory

Just as a heads up, in case it’s not clear in the story, the cavalry battle is the kibasen, a Japanese game.

Hahn’s yell of
frustration was music to Sokka’s ears. Achieving victory in this competition
was certain to make him happy no matter what, but knowing he had surpassed the
Northern Water Tribesman just seconds before his boat crossed the finish line
was all the more uplifting for him. So as Hahn kicked and fumed over his
perceived unfair loss on his vessel, Sokka hooted and hugged his sister and
Yuro, the last member of their sailing crew.

“We did it,
Sokka!” Katara exclaimed, beaming. “We won!”

“First gold for
the Southern Water Tribe!” Sokka shouted, laughing happily. “We’re the best!”

“In sailing,
that’s for sure!” said Katara, as the three of them climbed onto the dock.
