The caption on the back of the photo read “Councilwoman Azula, representative of the Fire Nation”. She didn’t know how the archives had gotten their hands on the photo. She distinctly remembered the day that Sokka had snuck up on her and snapped it, as though she had been transported back to the moment in time and could still feel the warmth of the sun filtering through the windows of her Republic City apartment.

She had never assumed that he would give it to the councillior archives. Not least of all because he knew how she felt about such things. Had known. 

The old woman sighed, setting the photo back in the file from whence it had come, patting the hair at the back of her neck with a steady hand and looking away at another pile of old papers. 


I feel like Sokka would have been one of the first people to buy a mass produced camera. HE WOULD BE INTO THAT SHIT.
